After a BIOS update, my laptop’s battery report suddenly shows a much lower full-charge capacity than it did the week before. The laptop still runs normally, but the change seems too sharp to be ordinary battery wear.
Could a firmware update affect how the battery is measured or calibrated, or should I treat the new reading as evidence of a failing battery? I’d be interested in what checks helped others distinguish a reporting change from real capacity loss.
