I published 18 original articles over the past month. Google Search Console lists most of their URLs as “Discovered – currently not indexed”, while a few were indexed within days.
The affected articles are included in the XML sitemap and linked from relevant category pages. They load normally in my browser, and I haven’t found a noindex directive or an obvious robots.txt block.
What should I investigate first?
My site has roughly 250 pages, so I’m unsure whether advice about crawl budget is relevant at this size. I also don’t want to keep requesting indexing without understanding what the status tells me.
- How does this status differ from “Crawled – currently not indexed” when deciding what to check?
- Would server access logs help establish whether Googlebot has requested these articles?
- What evidence would point toward a discovery or crawling issue rather than a problem with the content itself?
There is no manual action reported. I’m looking for a sensible diagnostic order, not a promise that every submitted URL will be indexed.
