My Windows laptop sometimes keeps its fan running after I close the lid, even though I expect it to go to sleep. It can continue for several minutes, and on a few occasions the laptop felt warm when I opened it again.
Could a background task or a sleep setting explain this? I’d like to narrow down what to check without changing settings that might prevent the laptop from waking normally.
