How Can I Check Whether a Perplexity Citation Actually Supports Its Claim?

Perplexity gives me links alongside its answers, but sometimes a cited page seems to mention the topic without backing the specific sentence it’s attached to. I’m trying to work out how much checking is needed before relying on a result for research or a draft.

Do you read the cited passage in context, look for the same claim in another source, or use a different verification method? I’m especially interested in how people judge whether a source supports the claim rather than merely sharing a keyword with it.
