Heat alerts are useful, but they don’t automatically give a delivery worker, construction crew or street vendor a way to avoid the hottest hours. I’m curious how well local heat action plans account for people whose income depends on being outside.
Do plans in Indian cities reach informal workers with usable warnings, drinking water, shade or changes to work schedules? I’d also like to hear whether anyone has seen heat protections for outdoor workers put into practice, rather than only listed in a city plan.
