I'm shifting my focus from civil services to banking recruitment and I'm trying to gauge how seriously I should take the General Studies section. In exams like IBPS PO or SBI Clerk, the quantitative and reasoning sections get most of the attention online, but the descriptive and objective GS papers still appear.

Can someone break down the approximate percentage or marks allocated to GS in these banking exams? Also, is the difficulty level comparable to UPSC prelims, or is it more of a basic awareness check? Any insight on whether skipping current affairs in banking prep is a viable strategy would be helpful.
