Losing access to your authenticator app or mobile device can block you from logging into your Reddit account if Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is enabled.
Troubleshooting 2FA Lockout Steps
Here is what you can do to regain access or bypass the prompt:
- Use Backup Codes: Enter one of the 10 backup codes generated when you first enabled 2FA.
- Check Saved Sessions: If you are still logged in on a desktop browser, navigate to User Settings > Safety & Privacy and disable 2FA using your password.
- Contact Reddit Support: If backup codes are lost and no session is active, submit a ticket under 2FA assistance. Note that recovery without backup codes is restricted for security.
