Reddit allows each subreddit (community) to have its own style or theme. On old Reddit, these styles were very visible. But on the new Reddit design, many times styles don’t load properly. The main reason is that new Reddit uses a different layout system, so many of the old custom CSS styles are not supported. Some subreddits did not update their themes for the new design. So you may just see the plain default look.
Another reason could be your browser or app. If you are using Reddit app, sometimes it doesn’t support subreddit styles at all. Also if your internet is slow or ad-blockers are active, styles may not load correctly. Some users also turn off "community themes" in their settings by mistake. To fix this, you can try switching to "old.reddit.com" to see original styles. Or go in settings and enable community themes. But remember, Reddit is moving towards the new design and removing support for old CSS, so many subreddits won’t look the same anymore. So it’s not really your error, it’s more like Reddit’s change in system.
