Former minister Kailash Gahlot switched to the BJP because he was not happy with the AAP anymore. He accused the AAP of deviating from its core values of working for the below-privileged and becoming a party of confrontation. According to Gahlot, this change caused poor governance and development in Delhi, which led him to resign from the party he used to belong to.
His resignation was due to several organizational factors, mainly leadership issues and goal disparity between the AAP and the party. Gahlot stated that the party's credibility has suffered due to its sustained concentration on political rights, the party's credibility was especially harsh on the AAP for considering financing programmes non-core, which, in his view, distracted from the prevailing core issues affecting residents in Delhi.
Out of the window, Gahlot was throwing the AAP party off hook for not delivering what it had pledged to do for the people of Delhi. That said he argued the party has turned a blind side having trends that give precedence to the leader’s interests while disregarding the common citizen. These priority changes made Gahlot frustrated and disillusioned with AAP, which he said has deviated from its goal of empowering the ordinary man for the sake of gameplay and authority.
Some people may have thought that some leads in AAP had been probing into something, but ideologically I differed from them, said Gahlot. He denied having any legal or political issues as the major causes of this move insisting that he decided to leave AAP due to certain developments that changed the contents of the party. It was clearly a decision based on his belief to produce better results in governance.
Gahlot’s switch to the BJP is definitely done to contribute to a party his prepositions, and concepts of governance align with. He said he wants to help grow a community that supports the betterment of society and good governance. Stating that AAP has not delivered on promises of development and transparency, Gahlot said that by joining BJP, Gahlot aims to contribute to realising the said goals.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Kailash Gahlot resigned from AAP and joined the BJP due to dissatisfaction with the AAP and with the ideology of the party that is deviating from the path of AAP from the given principle. Siddiqui thinks APP is tilted more towards political strategies than the taste of the common man and governance. That is why Gahlot is interested in becoming a member of the BJP – to promote the platform which would be closer to his/her goals and vision of the future services to the nation. His replay brings about a climax in his political career and strongly indicates change from AAP’s progressive political plan.
