GOVERNMENT POWER OR PRESSURE
Abuse of government power can be described as a violation of position’s power to have undue advantage of deprived and defenseless individuals, employees and organizations. Misuse of power happens when a head economically, sensibly, psychologically abuses the public.
EXAMPLES OF ABUSE OF POWER
Psychological manipulation, physical violence, financial exploitation and more are the acts of power abuse. Any act such as bullying, harassment, inequality, corruption and coercion are the examples of power abuse.
BULLYING: A lead spreading rumors, sabotage or censure about others are the acts of bullying. It also includes unnecessary aggression, upsetting chaff, comments, threats and more by using the power of position held by him/her.
INTENTIONALLY EMBARASSING JUNIORS: A lead who intentionally mocks others or juniors with a motive to embarrass them publicly is misusing his/her power. Over-checking of one’s work, preferential delegation of work and so on are the acts of power abuse.
MANIPULATION: A manipulator using tactics to attain possession and to influence others by falsehood is “manipulation.” The motto is to interfere other’s decision psychologically and compel them to ruin their well-being.
CORRUPTION: Any official using public power for personal gains is the act of abuse of power. Vote-buying, extortion and blackmail, bribery, nepotism, embezzlement and so on are the acts of corruption.
MALFEASANCE IN OFFICE: An authority allowing unlawful acts done in the official capacity can be termed as “malfeasance in office.” Abuse of power takes place in the form of malfeasance in office. Officials who abuse their powers are often corrupt.
Abuse of power may have a bad impact on one’s physical and mental health which results in desertion from surroundings, loss of trust, reputation and sincerity. It also leads to stress, depression, insomnia, anxiety disorder, panic attacks, insecurity and Schizophrenia, which can become a grave illness to a person’s life.
