The first Sikh Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born on 15th April 1469 in the house of a respected farmer in the village of Talwandi which is situated in Pakistan nowadays. Mehta Kalu was his father and apart from being a village accountant, he was also a popular man in his community. Mehta Kalu belonged to a poor family, but he was considered a model worker, and he took part in the management of financial affairs of the village.
