Laziness is the key enemy of productivity because most people are unable to come up with the ways and means of attaining their goals in the best possible way. In the case of delayed tasks, progress is lost because the time that is taken can be useful in other productive activities. These results cause a stacking of many tasks hence causing pressure and makes it hard to concentrate. Time wasters, hence, hinder or deteriorate the chance for making consistent progress towards the completion of these goals.

The two directly linked effects of procrastination include a reduced quality of work. When people delay priorities, they end up with a few hours to do them then is when they rush and do the work in a shoddy manner. Another negative effect that stakeholders may experience is that due to the pressure of time, as deadlines near people become careless and make more mistakes or do a subpar job. This scheduling methodology is counterproductive and unconstructive, again compromising the project outcome at the final stages.

Setting things off and putting them off is also common and always results in poor quality of work and low motivation. The longer one waits to do a specific job, the longer one starts hating the idea of doing it. As the due date nears this feeling of anxiety makes the task even more daunting and difficult to begin. When motivation decreases, procrastinators avoid the task, and this makes the situation worse and they feel trapped all the time.

Procrastination also has a severe long-term impact in handling tasks and the reputation of an employee or professional. It is unwise to submit assignments late without any acceptable reason or submit substandard documents to your clients. Friends and authorities at the workplace may develop doubts about an individual becoming dependable and committed, hence he misses chances, and others develop lesser trust in him, in addition, he stalls his career progression.

Lastly, using a lot of time delays the start of work and, thus, contributes to the formation of negative psychological atmospheres. Chronic preoccupation with things that remain to be done can result in stress, anxiety and, in some cases, guilt. As these positive but damaging emotions make their home in one’s mind, there is a growing despair or fatigue which only makes the procrastinator less capable of focusing and accomplishing their tasks.

Conclusion

In conclusion, The major evil which acts as the enemy of the desk and human efficiency is seen to be procrastination, which influences the standards of the work to be done and even the psychological health of the worker. Apart from slowing down their performance, the procrastination leads to stress and anxiety which in turn causes delay to create a pattern that is difficult to escape.
