Be vigilant and voluntary: Pay close attention to the teacher’s assumptions and nuanced knowledge of your child. 

Share your interests: If you happen to have any concerns about your child’s progress, behavior, or development, share them with the teacher. Be clear about what interests you and if you can guess, give role models.
