What's the contemporary state of affairs in [crisis-affected area]?

What is the current situation in [crisis-affected area]? I’m looking for a clear picture of what is happening on the ground, but the area needs to be named before anyone can give a useful update.

If you have recent information, please include when it was reported and where it comes from. Updates on latest local developments, humanitarian conditions, access to essential services, and safety and displacement would all help. Reliable, dated information from on-the-ground sources is especially useful, since circumstances can change quickly.
