How to delete a Facebook account

Your Facebook account will be permanently deleted within 30 days. During this time, you can still reactivate your account if you change your mind. However, after 30 days, your account and all of your data will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

Here are some things to keep in mind before you delete your Facebook account:

  • Once you delete your account, all of your data will be permanently deleted, including your profile, photos, posts, videos, messages, and friends.
  • You will not be able to reactivate your account or retrieve your data.
  • If you have any apps that are connected to your Facebook account, they will no longer work.
  • If you have any pending friend requests, they will be canceled.

If you're not sure whether you want to delete your Facebook account, you can always deactivate it instead. Deactivating your account will temporarily hide your profile from public view, but your data will still be stored on Facebook. You can reactivate your account at any time by logging back in.

To deactivate your Facebook account, follow the same steps as above, but instead of clicking on "Delete account," click on "Deactivate account."
