The Tesla Electric Mini Bus is another planned Tesla vehicle in the early stages of development disclosed by CEO Elon Musk when he revealed his 'Master Plan Part Deux.’ Musk revealed that the car is being built on the Model X chassis, even though it is still in the early phases of development. This should make it simpler to put into production.

In his "Master Plan," Elon Musk made reference to the car as a "high passenger-density urban transport vehicle" and explicitly mentioned how autonomous driving would make it possible.

The design of the Tesla Electric Minibus

There are 12 seats in all, including the driver's seat. If it has wheels mounted underneath the flat floor, they are difficult to see. The vehicle, according to Orth, is a "secret Tesla van prototype built for Elon Musk's Vegas Loop."

The 12-person vehicle created for The Boring Company's Las Vegas Loop system is quite similar to the van-like passenger car idea that was revealed as a preview in 2017. Whether or not this is the actual deal, it must be noted that the EV manufacturer initially referenced a Tesla electric van, minibus, or robotaxi in the Tesla Master Plan Part 2 back in 2016.

Heavy-duty trucks and "high passenger-density urban transport" were two new market areas Tesla was trying to electrify at the time, according to CEO Elon Musk. The Tesla Semi became a reality in December 2022, whereas the latter is (probably) still in the works. Elon Musk has previously mentioned that Tesla planned to build an electric minibus based on the Model X, but that project never materialized.

Then there were rumors that Tesla might produce a passenger car resembling a van for Musk's The Boring Company. Currently, Tesla Model Y and Model X vehicles are used in the tunnel, but the company has previously stated that it may develop a 12-passenger vehicle for the LVCC Loop. Rumors have recently surfaced claiming that Tesla has been developing a prototype for The Boring Company.
