“Kathmandu” city of Nepal, hosted the 4th Nepal Buildcon and Wood International Expo of 2018. The event was inaugurated by the Deputy Prime Minister of Nepal ‘Kamal Thapa’.
The theme of the International Expo was “Build Nepal- Invest in Development”. The event was for three days, from February 9 to February 11, at Bhikruti Mandal in Kathmandu. The aim of the International Expo was to provide an accurate and single platform to Engineers, Builders, Architects, Construction Material Supplier, Interior Decorators, Lighting, Furniture, Heavy Machine and Equipment Manufacturer, Tools, Fittings, Accessories, and other stakeholders.
In the Expo, more than 220 Domestic and International Companies and Brands were the participants in the Trade Show. Mahindra and Nippon Paint of India were also the participant companies as well as the official co-sponsors of the event. More than 80 participant companies were from India only. The Expo has been jointly set up by Ministry of Commerce, CII, and Commerce Wing of Indian Embassy, as well as Nepal Engineering Association (NEA), Society of Consulting Architectural and Engineering Firms (SCAEF), Society of Nepalese Architects (SONA), Federation of Contractors Association of Nepal (FCAN), and few other organizations of Nepal. The Indian Ambassador to Nepal “Manjeev Singh Puri”, was the Guest of Honour.
The expo was based on five different pillars and these are, Competitiveness, Promoting Infrastructure Investment, Encouraging Social Development, Facilitating Growth, and Human Capital. About 10 new technologies and products were unveiled in the 4th International Expo. The organizers of the Expo were Media Space Solutions and Futurex Trade Fair and Event. The Expo was focused over highlighting the Advanced Construction Technologies, Inspiring Innovative Products and Services to provide the maximum exposure to the Construction Sector of Nepal. The first expo organized by Nepal is in the year 2015, and in the Kathmandu as well.
