Flushing the DNS cache is a simple process that you may perform on your computer. We merely delete the local cache, after which your machine will rebuild it automatically.

  1. Hold down the Windows key and the X key at the same time (or right-click on the start menu)
  2. Choose either Windows PowerShell or Command Prompt as your command prompt.
  3. Press enter after typing ipconfig /flushdns.
  4. PowerShell should be closed.
  5. Restart Outlook and see if you can send and receive emails.
  6. This should fix the 0x80040115 send and receive an error in Outlook for most users.
