The ‘Yuva Swabhiman Yojana’ for Urban Youth was launched by the Government of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister “Kamal Nath” on February 22, 2019, at Motilal Nehru Stadium, in Bhopal.

Under this scheme, the government will provide employment for youth. The scheme guarantees 100 days of employment every year to urban youths belonging from the economically weaker sections. In this employment phase, the candidates will be given the skill development training so that they become independent in the future.
The government is having a target and has mentioned that already about 1.5 lakh urban youths have registered themselves under this scheme to benefit themselves. After enhancing the skill the government is further aiming towards inviting companies which will provide the full-time employment to the trained youths under this scheme.

Chief Minister ‘Kamal Nath’ even mentioned that especially those belonging to rural areas get employment under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA), due to which the urban poor youth were left out. Therefore, this scheme will effectively cover the maximum of Urban poor youths. With this scheme along with Skill Development, the youth will get ₹4,000 stipend per month during 100 days of the period. Ultimately, each enrolled youth under this scheme will get a total of Rs. 13,500 for the period of 100 days.
