“Kiki Bertens” of Netherlands beats ‘Simona Halep’ of Romania to win the Women’s Singles Titles in the 2019 “Madrid Open Tennis Tournament”.
Kiki Bertens won the finals in straight 2 sets with point 6-4, 6-4, victory over Halep. With this win, she became the first-ever woman to win the Madrid Open Singles Title Championship without dropping a set. Earlier also, Kiki Bertens and Simona Halep have faced each other 4 times and have shared the field. Their latest match was conducted during last year’s Cincinnati Open final, where Bertens represented herself the better of Halep for winning the biggest title of her career till date.
Bertens won the biggest career title so far in the Spanish capital, Madrid. Her victory over Halep also means the Romanian misses the chance to overtake world No. 1 Naomi Osaka in the rankings. A victory led the third-ranked Simona to achieve her careers world’s number one ranking. As well as she became the highest-ranked Dutch woman ever.
