“China” has hosted the Asian Badminton Championship of 2019. The championship was organized from April 23 to 28, 2019, at Wuhan Sports Center Gymnasium.
About 300 players from more than 20 Asian Countries have participated in the Badminton Championship. The tournament has the events of Men’s and Women’s Single Badminton Championship, Men’s and Women’s Double Badminton Championship, and the Mixed Double Badminton Championship. The total prize money of 2019, Badminton Asia Championship was $400,000 of all the events combined.
The Asian Badminton Championship was started in 1962 and is considered as one of the most competitive Badminton events in the World. It has been the 39th edition of the Asia Badminton Championship. From each participant country, the top 10 players had taken part in the Asian Badminton Championship tournament from different category events. At present time the Badminton Asia is represented by its 43 associate members belonging from 5 different sub-regions across Asia i.e. East Asia, South East Asia, West Asia, Central Asia, and South Asia.
In Men’s Single Badminton category the winner was ‘Kento Momota’ and in Women’s Single Badminton Category the winner was ‘Akane Yamaguchi’. Whereas, in Doubles Category, the Women’s Double Category the winners were ‘Chen Quing Chen’ and ‘Jia Yi Fan’, in Men’s Double Category the winners were ‘Hiroyuki Endo’ and ‘Yuta Watanabe’, and in Mixed Double’s Category the winners were ‘Wang Yi Lyu’ and ‘Huang Dong Ping’.
