India shares its Land Border with a total of 7 countries. However, the Maritime Borders of India recognized by the United Nations Convention of the Law of the Sea shares its border again with 7 number of Countries but not the same.

Name the countries with which India shares its border

The total International Border length for India is 15,106.7 Km. and the total Maritime International Border length is 7,516.6 Km. which includes Island territory as well. The Countries with whom India shares its land border and its length are as follows: 
1. Bangladesh and India International Border length is 4,096.7 Km. and the Armed Forces guarding the border from the Indian side is Border Security Force, famously known as ‘BSF’.
2. China and India International Border length is 3,488 Km. and the Armed Forces guarding the border from the Indian side are “Indo-Tibetan Border Police” famously known as ‘ITBP’ and the “Special Frontier Force”.
3. Pakistan and India International Border length is 3,323 Km. and the Armed Forces guarding the border from the Indian side is “Border Security Forces” known as ‘BSF’.
4. Nepal and India International Border length is 1,751 Km. and the Armed Forces guarding the border from the Indian side is “Sashastra Seema Bal”.
5. Myanmar and India International Border length is 1,643 Km. and the Armed Forces guarding the border from the Indian side are “Assam Rifles” and “Indian Army”.
6. Bhutan and India International Border length is 699 Km. and the Armed Forces guarding the border from the Indian side is “Sashastra Seema Bal”.
7. Afghanistan and India International Border length is 106 Km.
