Mary Kom's life is one of unwavering struggle and unwavering enthusiasm forboxing. She was born to landless agricultural labourers in the northeast Indian state of Manipur. Her body was prepared for the sport by a childhood of hard labour, as well as whatever fitness training she might have had. Her own determination and assertiveness got her past the political minefield that any sport in India entails.

The boxing ring was her domain, as she was quick on her feet and didn't pull any punches. M.C. Mary Kom isn't ready to call it quits just yet, but she tells it like it is here: her rough background, her rebellions, and how she held her own in the male-dominated world of boxing. It's all here in this uplifting, thrilling storey about a woman who overcame insurmountable difficulties in a man's world and triumphed.
