The Congress Party has been in power in India for decades. The Nehru-Gandhi family has been at the helm of the party for most of that time. But, in recent years, the party has been losing support. In the 2014 general election, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by Narendra Modi swept to power. The Congress Party was left with just 44 seats in the Lok Sabha (the lower house of parliament).

Since then, there has been a power struggle within the Congress Party. The current president of the party, Rahul Gandhi, is the son of Sonia Gandhi, who was the president before him. Rahul Gandhi has been trying to reform the party and make it more relevant to the people of India. But, he has been facing resistance from within the party.

Now, it seems that Narendra Modi is targeting the Gandhi family. In the past few months, a number of corruption cases have been filed against Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. The BJP has been using these cases to attack the Congress Party.

Narendra Modi is a very clever politician. He knows that the Congress Party is weak right now. He also knows that the Gandhis are the faces of the party. By targeting the Gandhis, Modi is trying to weaken the Congress Party even further.

The Congress Party is in a very difficult situation. It is struggling to survive. And, it seems that Narendra Modi is doing everything he can to make sure that the Congress Party dies.

In the past, the Modi government has been accused of targeting the Gandhi family, particularly Sonia Gandhi, the president of the Congress party. In 2015, the government had launched an investigation into the affairs of the National Herald, a newspaper owned by the Gandhi family. The investigation was seen as a political vendetta by the Congress party, which accused the Modi government of using the agencies of the state to target its opponents.

The latest attack on the Gandhi family comes at a time when the Congress party is gearing up for the 2019 general elections.  The latest attack came in the form of a book written by a senior BJP leader and close confidante of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which makes a series of unsubstantiated claims against the family. The party is seeking to project Rahul Gandhi as its prime ministerial candidate and is hoping to cash in on the anti-incumbency against the Modi government. The Congress party has accused the Modi government of using the agencies of the state to target its opponents.

Is Narendra Modi targeting the Gandhi family?

For example, Modi has recently suggested that the Congress Party, which the Gandhis have long been associated with, should be renamed. He has also hinted that he wants to change the name of the country's main airport, which is currently named after former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Modi's actions have led many to believe that he is deliberately targeting the Gandhi family. Whether this is true or not, one thing is clear: Narendra Modi is not a fan of the Gandhis, and he is willing to go to great lengths to make his feelings known.
