Bhagat Singh was an Indian revolutionary who was born into a Sikh family in British India. His father and uncles were actively involved in the independence movement against the British Raj. Bhagat Singh became involved in the independence movement at a young age and quickly rose to prominence in the Indian National Congress.

Bhagat Singh became disillusioned with the Congress and its leaders, including Gandhi. He felt that they were not doing enough to get rid of the British. So, he joined the Hindustan Republican Association, a revolutionary group that believed in using violence to achieve independence.

The British cracked down on the HRA and its members, including Bhagat Singh. He was arrested and jailed several times. But he continued to fight for independence.

In 1929, Bhagat Singh and his comrades carried out a bomb attack in the Central Legislative Assembly in Delhi. They wanted to make a statement against the British and the unjust laws they had imposed on the people of India.

The bomb didn't kill anyone, but Bhagat Singh and his comrades were arrested and charged with murder. They were sentenced to death and hanged on 23 March 1931.

Bhagat Singh was just 23 years old when he was hanged by the British on 23 March 1931. He was a revolutionary who fought for India's independence from British rule. 

Gandhi was horrified by Bhagat Singh's acts of violence. He thought that Singh was betraying the cause of Indian independence. Gandhi believed that violence would only lead to more violence and would not help the people of India achieve their goal of independence. Bhagat Singh was seen as a traitor by Mahatma Gandhi because he advocated for violence. Gandhi believed that violence was not the way to achieve independence. 

Bhagat Singh's martyrdom made him a hero for many Indians. But for Gandhi, he was a traitor who had betrayed the cause of independence.
