- Apple's Mac OS X operating system makes linking Windows systems to Macintosh computers more easier. To connect Windows XP systems to Macs, follow these steps:
- Log in to the Mac system you want to share resources from.
- Open System Preferences (either from the Dock by clicking the System Preferences icon or from Finder | Applications | System Preferences).
- Select the Sharing button.
- Check the box for Windows Sharing and then click the corresponding option in the Services menu. (Note that to make changes, the lock at the bottom of the menu must be unlocked; you may need to log on as an Administrator.)
