A laptop security slot is a small hole in the laptop that serves the primary goal of protecting the device. A security lock slot is found on the side of some laptops and in the back corner of others. After the year 2000, all portable computers and laptops must feature a security lock slot.
Most laptops have a Kensington security slot built in, but MacBooks don't, so you'll need an adaptor to use one.
To safeguard your Mac from malware and tampering, use the General pane in Security & Privacy options. On your Mac, go to Apple menu > System Preferences, then Security & Privacy, then General.
