In Jammu and Kashmir, the NITI Aayog intends to create 1000 Atal Tinkering Laboratories.
By the conclusion of the fiscal year 2021-22, 187 of the 1000 Atal Tinkering Laboratories will have been constructed. Out of 187 ATLs, 31 will be created in government schools in J&K, while the remaining 50 would be built in other public universities including as KVs, JNVs, and private institutions.
Students were introduced to technical innovation through the establishment of Atal Tinkering Labs (ATL) in schools since entrepreneurship and innovation have become a vital part of our nation. Its goals are as follows:
- To establish workspaces that allow young minds to gain creative talents, come up with new ideas via hands-on activities, and work and study in a flexible setting.
- To equip students with 21st-century skills such as creativity, innovation, critical thinking, creative thinking, social and cross-cultural collaboration, ethical leadership, and so on.
- To assist in the development of creative solutions to India's specific issues, therefore aiding the country's attempts to thrive as a knowledge economy.
