The Indian Navy's Western Naval Command completed the combined maritime operation Paschim Lehar (XPL-2022) off the West Coast. The 20-day exercise was aimed to raise inter-service collaboration among the Indian Navy, Air Force, Army, and Coast Guard.
Paschim Lehar is a tri-service combined maritime activity led by the Indian Navy in collaboration with the other 2 factors and the Coast Guard. Paschim Lehar 2022 was held under the auspices of FOC-in-C, Western Naval Command.
Paschim Lehar's drill aims to confirm Western Naval Command operating systems and improve inter-service coordination among the Indian Navy, IAF, Indian Army, and Coast Guard.
Paschim Lehar 2022 witnessed the involvement of:-
- The Indian Air Force's SU 30 MKI and Jaguar maritime attack aircraft, Flight Refueling Aircraft, and AWACs.
- Maritime reconnaissance aircraft P8i, Dorniers, IL 38 SD, autonomous aircraft devices, and MiG 29K attack aircraft for the Indian Navy.
- Air Defense systems, among many other items, are used by the Indian Army.
- OPVs, FPVs, and Air Cushion Vessels are used by the Indian Coast Guard.
The Paschim Lehar exercise gave all participating troops the chance to work under one controlled circumstance in responding to modern maritime concerns across the Command's regions of command.
