The microphone in your laptop not working after upgrading to Windows 10:
- Using the keyboard shortcut, open the Settings app. Keyboard shortcut: Windows+I
- Click on Privacy, then Microphone Set to authorise access to the device's microphone.
- Make your microphone accessible to apps - turn it on.
- Choose which apps have access to your microphone and turn on required access if necessary.
- Activate the control panel.
- Click Sound Here after selecting Hardware and Sound. Right-click an empty area on the Recording tab and select, Show devices that are disconnected and Show devices that are disabled
- Select Microphone from the drop-down menu and select Properties.
- Make sure the microphone is turned on.
- You should also make sure that the microphone you're using is set to default.
- In the Windows Start Search box, type microphone > To set up a microphone, go to Set up a Microphone > Select the desired microphone type (others for the internal mic) > To set it up, follow the onscreen instructions.
