Right to Information in India

Introduction

The basic stone (Base) of living in the knowledge, as it is believed in the ancient time that we are nothing without knowledge. The word Democracy, which has been defined as it is by the people, of the people, for the people is not a complete principle without the information or knowledge. If we will further elaborate the word it is like the fundamental in our living and should be included in the part of the fundamental rights.

The ancient history of RTI

During the British era of India, the Angrej used to rule in the poor people of India who even couldn’t use their farming land in their way. How could you say they know about what was going on in the internal government office or the internal policy. Though the people of Ancient India was not having any right to know any information regarding any policy and working rules. But, the system changed and when the revolution of education washed the Indian Youth they get to know the power of knowledge, and then they asked about the right to know any information related to them. Then they raised their voice and tried hard.

Development of RTI in India

When the people of India get to know about the power and need for information in the living they raised their voice against the governing authority and later on to some extent it was made available for some specific people. Later on, when people realized that the constitution of India has already been given the Right to Information as a Fundamental Right as it had embedded it in the Articles 19 and 21 in the constitution which is saying that we have the fundamental right to live and have the right to speech and express and based on it the act was passed in 2005 in the accordance with the article of the constitution.

The process to avail your RTI right

Nowadays, the government of India made the process online and allowed the applicant to get information from any government authority any information which is for the interest of the public, and the fee is 10 rupees for Applying RTI.
