China's “Li Shi Feng” won the Men’s Singles Title of Canada Open Badminton 2019. Officially, the tournament was named as ‘Yonex Canada Open 2019’.

The venue of the tournament was “Markin-MacPhail Centre” at Calgary, Alberta in Canada. The event was taken place on July 2 to 7, 2019. The total prize money for the event was $75,000/-. Former Commonwealth Games Champion ‘Parupalli Kashyap’ impressive run at the Canada Open Super 100 tournament came to an end after he lost a three-game thriller to China's Li Shi Feng at Calgary.

Sixth seed Kashyap produced some bold performances during the event, but in finals he fell short against Feng, going down 22-20, 14-21, 17-21 in the final event.

Feng is a Chinese Badminton Player, who started playing badminton from the age of 6 years. He represented his country during the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics, organized at Buenos Aires in Argentina. In the event, he won the Gold medal in the event of Boy’s Singles. He is a Right Handed Badminton Player. He achieved all these medals at a very young age and currently he is just 19 years old.

The Silver Medalist of Canada Open Badminton 2019, P. Kashyap is a Hyderabad born Indian badminton player. He is a Gold Medalist of 2014 Commonwealth Games in Men’s Singles Category. He is also the Indian Male Player who reached at the Quarterfinals in the London Olympics 2012 of Men’s Singles. The 32 year old badminton player is a Right handed player, who trains under coach ‘Pullela Gopichand’. He is also an Arjuna Award’ winner of the year 2012, by the Government of India.
