Sudarshan Sen has been named as the new Executive Director of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) instead of N S Vishwanathan, who has been raised as Deputy Governor at the central bank. He took the charge on 04 July 2016.
He will care for the Department of Banking Regulation, Department of Co-usable Banking Regulation and Department of Non-Banking Regulation.  

Sudarshan Sen, a vocation national broker who has a long relationship with bank oversight and regulation was responsible for the Department of Banking Regulation before taking over as Executive Director. He has likewise been Regional Director of Ahmedabad office of the Reserve Bank.  
Sudarshan Sen holds an MBA in International Banking and Finance from the University of Birmingham, UK. He likewise holds a graduate degree in Mathematics from the University of Delhi. He is an RSS mindset person and allegedly has close links with PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
