Who won the Womens singles title in the 42nd edition of Porsche Tennis Grand Prix

The 42nd edition was played in the year 2019, the women’s tennis tournament played on Indoor Clay court. The event took place at the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart, Germany, from April 23, 2019, to April 29, 2019. She defeated Estonia’s Anett Kontaveit with 6-3, 7-6(2) points. Kvitova is the first player of the year 2018 WTA Tour to win a second title. Her first came to Sydney in January. The left-hander won the first set comfortably and eventually secured the title on her third match point in the second set tiebreak.

The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix had lost its number 1 player as Naomi Osaka was forced to withdraw due to an abdominal injury she had incurred in her quarterfinal match. World No.3 Kvitova successfully got back on serve by forcing errors in the next game, but the Czech was not as imposing on serve in the second set as she had been in the opener. Kontaveit nearly made Kvitova pay for that at 5-4, when Kvitova double-faulted to hand Kontaveit a set point.

Kvitova suddenly turned out as the vintage level player which has led her to two Wimbledon titles. The opponent Kontaveit saved two, but with a final fiery forehand on the third was the charm, as Kvitova sealed the Stuttgart crown. Laura Siegemund was the defending champion in the 42nd edition of Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.
