  • The Amendment also amended clause 1 of article 240 of the constitution and made these Territories enable the President to make any rule according to the interest of the Territory. And make the peace, progress, and the good government of the Territory.
  • The Amendment came into effect on 20th December 1961
  • The Amendment was introduced by the then government of Jawaharlal Nehru and the final Assent was received by the then President Dr. Rajendra Prashad.
