“Central Road Research Institute” is located in ‘New Delhi’. The Institute is at a distance of 5 Km. from Nizamuddin Railway Station on NH-2 highway. CRRI was established in 1952, as the constituent laboratory of India’s CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research).

Central Road Research Institute conducts R&D programs which are related to the improvement of entire spectrum of pavement design and performance, pavement deterioration modeling, road condition monitoring, traffic engineering and management, maintenance planning and management, landslide management and hazard mitigation, pavement management system, geotechnical investigations & ground improvement techniques, and improved transportation planning technology for emerging urban needs.

Central Road Research Institute provides several refresher/ training and development programs which were carried out to suit the requirement of different target groups. The future of Research & Development programs of Central Road Research Institute mainly focuses on safety, speedy and efficient road transportation system available with the minimum total cost of transportation per unit of total infrastructure transportation. Central Road Research Institute also provides technical and consultancy services to numerous organizations in India and abroad as well.

Central Road Research Institute is a highly equipped laboratory which is ready to meet the new challenge and is well established for providing the high level of required Research & Development support to the road development plans in the country and to other highway agencies present in the SAARC and the Asia and the Pacific region.
