The Senate has 100 Senators, two from each state. They serve six-year terms and are responsible for approving presidential appointments and passing legislation that affects the entire country. The Vice President is the President of the Senate and acts as a tie breaker when there is a tie vote. The senators are elected by the citizens of their respective states and serve a six-year term. This means that each state has two senators. The senators are responsible for drafting and proposing legislation, debating bills, and voting on them. They also have the power to confirm or reject the appointments of federal judges and executive branch officials. 

Both the House of Representatives and the Senate are responsible for initiating and passing all laws in the United States. The duties and responsibilities of the House and Senate are vast and varied, from passing legislation to confirming appointments to the federal court system.
