To restore your smartphone to factory settings in Tunes, follow these steps:

  1. Use the USB or Lightning cable that came with your iPhone X to connect it to your computer.
  2. On your PC, launch iTunes.
  3. If asked, enter your iPhone's passcode or tap the Trust This Computer option on the screen.
  4. To continue, follow the onscreen instructions.
  5. When your iPhone X appears in iTunes, choose it.
  6. In iTunes, go to the Summary section.
  7. In Tunes, select Restore [device] or Restore Backup. Then, to restore from, find and pick your selected backup.
  8. To finalize the action, click Restore once again. After that, iTunes will begin erasing your device and installing the most recent iOS version for your iPhone. Enter the password for your encrypted backup if asked.
Your iPhone X will restart after it restores to factory settings. By then you can set it up as new.
