Partition splitting is the process of dividing a large partition into two smaller ones. Under certain circumstances, it is required.
To launch 'Run,' press 'Windows+R,' type 'diskmgmt.msc' in the empty box, and then touch 'OK.'
Select 'Shrink Volume' from the context menu of the huge partition you want to shrink.
It will then determine how much space can be compressed. To proceed, enter the shrunk size (MB) in the following window and click 'Shrink.'.
After you've shrunk the partition, you'll see an unallocated area. Right-click it and choose 'New Simple Volume,' then use the wizard to create a new partition on the free space.
