The book ‘Faces and Place’ is written by an Economist and former Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University, “Prof. Deepak Nayyar”. The book was unveiled by the then Vice-President of India “Mohammad Hamid Ansari”. The book was based on the collection of photographs done by the professor himself from about last four decades.

Who is the writer of the Faces and Places Professor ?

Prof. Deepak Nayyar was the Professor of Economics at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi and Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS), New Delhi. He completed his college education from University of Oxford, University of Sussex, Indian Institute of Management- Calcutta (IIM-C), and the new School of Social Research, New York. From the year 2000-2005, he was the Vice-Chancellor of University of Delhi.
He was in the Indian Administrative Services and for some time he worked as ‘Economic Advisor in the Ministry of Commerce’. Later, he became the Chief Economic Advisor of the Government of India and the Secretary in the 'Ministry of Finance'.
