The new vice chancellor of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is B A Chopade. He has been appointed by the Human Resource Development Ministry.

Before the vice-chancellor in BHU he was working as the vice-chancellor of Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University. Recently, before some days when the President Ram Nath Kovind, who on the Visit to the university, approved Chopade’s as the new vice chancellor of BHU.

After Girish Chandra Tripathi went on leave, the post of vice chancellor was lying vacant then student start the ruckus in the campus in September 2017.

Neeraj Tripathi who was the BHU Registrar, will give charge to B A Chopade. He had been holding the additional charge of the top post since October 2017 in the university.After Tripathi, University wants someone with a clean track record to head the university so, he is chosen as the new vice chancellor of Banaras Hindu University (BHU).

As per the sources report in BHU, an official letter from President's Ram Nath Kovind office regarding Chopade's appointment was sent to the university.

By an academic organisation, Chopade who is a Professor of Biotechnology. He was awarded as the Best Vice Chancellor award in the year 2016 that recognises such achievements of this man.
