The Making of India: The Untold Story of British Enterprises is the first book to examine practically every area of Britain's contribution to India's long-term institutional and physical infrastructure in one volume.

In the third week of April 2016, Kartar Lalvani's book The Making of India: The Untold Story of British Enterprises was in the news. The book examines British rule and its role in bringing India together. The book is said to bring to light many previously untold good aspects of colonial rule.

The tale begins in the 17th century when a little maritime island dispatched sailing ships on a five-month commercial expedition across 11000 miles in quest of fresh prospects.

The book is the first to examine practically all areas of Britain's contribution to India's long-term institutional and physical infrastructure in a single volume. It also details the contributions of Britishbusiness in the 19th and 20th centuries to the creation of a unified India from the enormous Indian subcontinent's multi-cultural, multi-linguistic, and split parts.

Kartar Lalvani was born in Karachi, Pakistan, in the year 1931. After the partition of India, he relocated to Mumbai in 1947.
  •  In 1956, he moved to London to study pharmacy at Chelsea College.
  • He received his doctorate from the University of Bonn with honors.
  • He is the founder and chairman of Vitabiotics, a global nutraceutical company focused on vitamin and mineral-based formulations.
