Chris Gayle scored the highest individual score in the Cricket World Cup. His full name is Christopher Henry Gayle. He is one of the best batsmen of the West Indies cricket team. He also led as the captain of the West Indies' Test side from 2007 to 2010. He is widely acknowledged as one of the most destructive batsmen in the history of the game and was very successful in the T20 format as well.

Chris Gayle hit the double century against Zimbabwe on 24 February 2015 as his highest individual score in all the world cups so far. This is the first double century scored by any batsman in World Cups. He achieved the milestone of the double century off 138 balls, the fastest ever double century in ODIs. Gayle finished on 215 from 147 balls. He decorated his innings with 10 fours and 16 massive sixes.
