Punjabi is also spoken as a regional language in a lot of different countries where Punjabis have emigrated in massive quantities, such as the United Kingdom and Canada, where Punjabi has now exceeded Chinese and French as the 4th most spoken language, thanks to a flood of foreigners from Pakistan and India.


Punjabi is spoken by an estimated 102 million people worldwide. If they're considered an ethnic group, they're one of the world's largest. They are the second-largest ethnic group in South Asia, behind the Bengalis.
