Divided into three basic layers National Knowledge Network (NKN) consists of CORE, Distribution and Edge. These are the three layers of NKN with the ultra high-speed CORE at Level 1, Distributed as level 2 and Edge as User Level. Connectivity will be provided to the institutes depending on the type of connectivity required by the user organization. The geographical presence and the location of Point of Presence (PoP) of National Knowledge Network (NKN) (belonging to core and distribution) will also be taken into consideration while providing the connectivity to the user organization.
