At the age of 57 years, he became the President of the United States for the first time. From 1789 to 1797, i.e. the two terms were held by him in a row as the President of the United States. He has been the one of the most popular President of the United States and is still till now. George Washington is famous for his leading the country as the Continental Army and lead towards victory over the British during the American Revolution. He also was the first President of the United States who set a live example and helped to define and demonstrate what should be the role of the President would play to lead the country forward.
On April 30, 1789, he took the oath as the first President of the United States while standing at the balcony of the Federal Hall on Wall Street in New York. Likewise, he served the two terms as the President of the United States.
He was a very genuine person as it was very much evident while he administered the governmentwith a lot of fairness and integrity, and setting an example in front of Americans that the President should exercise all of his authorities without corruption. Washington also set a standard for presidential integrity which was rarely met by his successors, although he maintained an ideal structure over which they all could be judged. 
His one of the biggest accomplishment as a President was to keep out the United States from wars and which ultimately gives an opportunity to a nation to grow and establish neutrality in the foreign policy of United States of America.
