The Android operating system was conjointly founded by Andy Rubin, Rich Miner, Near Sears and Chris White.

Founded in the Palo Alto in October 2003 Android project was initially designed to upgrade digital camera with new features but the company Android Inc. didn’t get investors for the project as per their expectation.Android Inc. soon realized that the market for the digital camera hasn’t gone to that extent so the company switched their mind and put all their effort in to create an Android operating system for mobile phones.

 Later, Google purchased Android Inc. in the year 2005 for $50 million and the core founders of Android Rubin, Miner, and White, joined Google Corporation.
