**BUS** is a networking [topology](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/145508/what-is-topology-in-computer-network) that connects networking components via a single cable or a series of linearly connected cable segments.

- A **bus topology** example is connecting two floors with a single line.
- A bus topology is also used in Ethernet networks.
- In a bus topology, one computer acts as a server and the other computers act as clients. The server's purpose is to exchange data between client computers.
- Using a bus topology network, printers, scanners, and other input/output devices can be added to the office/home.
