- If your iPad lacks a Home button, take these steps:
- To turn on your iPad, press and hold the top button until you see the Apple logo.
- **To turn off the [iPad](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94876/how-do-you-make-notes-on-an-ipad),** press and hold the top and volume buttons at the same time, then move the slider.
- On or off the iPad (models with the Home button)
- To turn on your iPad, press and hold the top button until you see the Apple logo.
- Press and hold the top button, then drag the slider to turn off the iPad.
- Go to Settings > General > Shut Down and drag the slider to switch off any model.
