It was a simple box camera with a fixed-focus lens and a single shutter speed, which appealed to the common consumer due to its inexpensive price.
- Between 1905 and 1913, a number of manufacturers began using 35 mm film for still photography. The Tourist Multiple and the Simplex were the first 35 mm cameras offered to the general public and sold in substantial numbers.
